Priyanka Gandhi Slams UP Govt Over Dalit Woman’s Murder in Ayodhya, Calls It ‘BJP’s Jungle Raj’

A horrific crime in Ayodhya has sparked outrage, with Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi launching a scathing attack on the BJP-led Uttar Pradesh government over the murder of a Dalit woman. She accused the state administration of turning a blind eye to the suffering of Dalits, tribals, and the poor, calling it a “Jungle Raj where no one listens to their cries.”
Priyanka Gandhi took to social media, expressing shock and grief over the brutal killing of the young woman, who had reportedly gone missing after attending a Bhagwat Katha. “The brutality inflicted on a Dalit girl in Ayodhya is spine-chilling. Such cruel incidents shame humanity. The girl was missing for three days, but the police did nothing. The UP government has become synonymous with atrocities on Dalits. I demand strict action against both the culprits and the negligent police officials,” she wrote.
Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party MP Awadhesh Prasad broke down in tears during a press conference, unable to contain his grief over the incident. Terming the crime “extremely sad and inhuman,” he vowed to resign from the Lok Sabha if justice was not served.
Police Investigation Underway
According to Ayodhya SSP Raj Karan Nayyar, the girl had been reported missing on January 31, 2025, after she disappeared from her home the night before. Her body was discovered in a field, raising suspicions that she had been murdered elsewhere and dumped at the site.
“Senior officials and forensic teams have collected scientific evidence. Prima facie, the murder did not happen at the spot where the body was found,” Nayyar said.
The police have since detained a suspect and formed three special teams to investigate the case. Nayyar assured that “the case will be cracked soon, and the guilty will receive the strictest punishment through a fast-track court.”
The brutal crime has reignited concerns over women’s safety and caste-based violence in Uttar Pradesh, with opposition leaders demanding swift justice and accountability from the government.
