President Trump Monitors Iran’s Missile Strike on US Base from White House Situation Room

Doha/Washington:
Amid rising tensions in the Middle East, US President Donald Trump is currently in the White House Situation Room, overseeing Iran’s missile strike on the US-operated Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar. The strike comes just two days after the United States launched its “Operation Midnight Hammer”, targeting three of Iran’s major nuclear enrichment sites — Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan.

Late in the evening, explosions were heard across Doha, the capital of Qatar, shortly after reports emerged of a credible Iranian threat. According to Reuters, a Western diplomat had warned of an imminent strike on the Al Udeid base. The Iranian Armed Forces later confirmed the assault, describing it as a “devastating and powerful missile attack” carried out under Operation Besharat Fatah.

In its official statement, Iran’s military said:

“This decisive action sends a clear message to the White House and its allies: The Islamic Republic of Iran will not leave any attack on its territorial integrity, sovereignty, or national security unanswered.”

The Qatari government confirmed that there were no casualties from the attack, and stated that it reserves the right to respond. The Foreign Ministry of Qatar denounced the missile strike as a blatant violation of its sovereignty, airspace, and international law.

Following the incident, Qatar temporarily closed its airspace, forcing several aircraft to divert away from Doha — a major global air hub. Meanwhile, the US Embassy in Qatar issued an alert advising American citizens to shelter in place until further notice.

The Iranian retaliation follows a high-profile US operation over the weekend, during which American bombers struck underground nuclear sites in Iran. Announcing the operation, President Trump addressed the nation, declaring:

“Iran’s key nuclear enrichment facilities have been completely and totally obliterated. Iran, the bully of the Middle East, must now make peace. If they do not, future attacks will be far greater and a lot easier.”

He further warned:

“If peace does not come quickly, we will go after other targets with precision, speed, and skill. Most of them can be taken out in a matter of minutes.”

The strike on the Al Udeid base now marks a dangerous escalation in the already volatile situation in the region, as tensions between Iran, the US, and its allies continue to mount.
