Preity Zinta Takes Legal Route Against Punjab Kings Co-Owners Over Disputed Meeting

Bollywood actress and Punjab Kings co-owner Preity Zinta has taken legal action against her fellow co-directors Mohit Burman and Ness Wadia, filing a case in a Chandigarh court over what she alleges was an improperly held board meeting. All three are directors of KPH Dream Cricket Private Limited, the company that owns the IPL team.

Zinta has raised objections over an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) conducted on April 21, claiming it violated the procedures outlined under the Companies Act, 2013. According to her, she had formally opposed the meeting via email on April 10, but her concerns were ignored. Despite attending the meeting alongside co-director Karan Paul, Zinta has asked the court to declare the meeting invalid.

Her primary concern revolves around the appointment of Muneesh Khanna as a director, a move both she and Paul opposed. In her petition, Zinta has requested that Khanna be barred from acting in his new role and that any decisions made during the disputed meeting be put on hold.

She has also urged the court to ensure that no further board or general meetings are held unless both she and Karan Paul are present—and that Khanna be excluded from such proceedings until the matter is resolved.

Despite the behind-the-scenes legal drama, Zinta has not let it affect her public support for the Punjab Kings. She’s been a regular presence in the stands during the 2025 IPL season, passionately cheering for her team.

Led by captain Shreyas Iyer, Punjab Kings are having a breakthrough season—qualifying for the playoffs for the first time since 2014. Currently in third place with 17 points from 12 matches, the team is eyeing a top-two finish.

They’re set to wrap up the league stage with matches against Delhi Capitals on May 24 in Jaipur, and Mumbai Indians on May 26.
