“Please Think About Men”: Techie’s Tragic Death Sparks Conversation on Mental Health and Marital Struggles

Agra, Uttar Pradesh: The untimely death of Manav Sharma, a techie from Agra working at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), has sparked a crucial conversation on mental health and the struggles men face in marriages. Sharma allegedly died by suicide on February 24, leaving behind a heartbreaking video where he blamed his wife of one year for his decision.

His sister discovered the video two days later on his phone. In the nearly seven-minute recording, Sharma accused his wife of being romantically involved with another man and expressed the loneliness men often feel.

“Please think about men. The law needs to protect men, or one day there will be no men left to blame,” he said with a noose around his neck.

Shortly after the video surfaced, Sharma’s wife, Nikita, responded with a counter-video denying the allegations. She claimed that her husband’s accusations were about her past, not their marriage, and accused him of domestic violence.

“He used to drink and beat me… He had attempted suicide multiple times before, and I stopped him at least three times,” she said.

She further stated that she had informed his family about his mental health struggles, but they dismissed it as a personal matter between the couple.

A complaint was filed against Nikita after the video was found. Police are currently investigating both sides of the story.

This tragic incident follows a similar case in Bengaluru, where Atul Subhash, a deputy general manager, died by suicide in December, leaving behind a detailed note accusing his wife and in-laws of harassment.

The cases highlight the importance of addressing mental health struggles among men and fostering open conversations about emotional well-being in marriages.
