Noida Call Centre Scam Busted: 32 Arrested for Cheating Lakhs with Fake Holiday Plans

Noida Police have uncovered a major fraud operation run by a call centre in Sector 63, where a gang posing as representatives of ‘Country Holiday Travel India Limited’ duped unsuspecting customers with false promises of luxury holiday packages. The scam, active for two years, allegedly cheated victims out of lakhs of rupees before the operation was shut down on Saturday.
The crackdown led to the arrest of 32 individuals, including 17 women. Police seized several devices used in the operation, including laptops, mobile phones, and documents detailing the fraudulent schemes.
How the Scam Worked
The gang lured victims with offers of lavish vacation packages, such as nine-day trips to luxury hotels, charging upwards of ₹2.5 lakh. Once payments were made, they either delayed bookings indefinitely or vanished altogether, leaving customers helpless.
The Complaint That Sparked the Raid
The scam came to light when Anita, a resident of Amrapali Eden Park in Noida, filed a complaint after losing ₹84,000 for a holiday package that never materialized. Her persistence prompted further investigation, revealing similar complaints from victims in Noida and Pune, who reported paying between ₹2.5 to ₹2.8 lakh for bogus packages.
The Police Operation
Following detailed investigations and multiple complaints, police raided the call centre, uncovering the extent of the fraud. Equipment used to run the operation, including laptops, routers, and iPads, was seized.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Shakti Mohan Awasthi confirmed the arrests and revealed that the gang had cheated hundreds of victims over two years. Police are now working to track the stolen funds and ensure justice for those affected.
