“No Message Or Anything”: Yuzvendra Chahal Opens Up About Final Interaction With Ex-Wife Dhanashree Verma

Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal has shared personal insights into his relationship with ex-wife Dhanashree Verma, revealing that the two have not been in contact since their divorce earlier this year. The couple, who married in December 2020, officially parted ways in March 2025 following a mutual consent divorce filed in February.

Speaking on Raj Shamani’s YouTube podcast, Chahal disclosed that their last conversation took place over a video call arranged by their lawyers. “I had not seen her for a very long time, and then I saw her on a video call, where the lawyers spoke to us. That’s it—no message or anything after that,” he said.

He also revealed that communication between them had been minimal for months prior to the divorce. “Before the divorce, we weren’t on talking terms for six to seven months. We only spoke if something important came up.”

When asked who initiated the decision to separate, Chahal said it was mutual. “She brought it up sometimes, and I did too. One day, it just happened mutually.”

Addressing the possibility of reconciliation, he responded, “No, we tried enough. I tried my best.”

Chahal also addressed the emotional toll of the separation, saying he faced mental health challenges during that time. Refuting rumors of infidelity, he firmly stated, “I never cheated on Dhanashree.”

He added that both had agreed to keep their separation private until the divorce was finalized. “It was going on for a while. We didn’t want to make it public unless it was final. Until then, we chose to appear like a normal couple on social media.”
