Nitin Gadkari Unveils Rs 30,000 Crore Road and Highway Projects for Rajasthan

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, announced infrastructure projects worth Rs 30,000 crore for Rajasthan during the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit 2024. The projects, spanning a total length of 800 km, include key initiatives like the Northern Jaipur Ring Road and the Jaipur-Kishangarh-Jodhpur to Amritsar Highway.

Addressing a thematic session on “Infrastructure: An Important Link in Supply Chain”, Gadkari highlighted the importance of transport infrastructure as a cornerstone for attracting investments, creating jobs, and driving economic growth. He added that the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor passing through Rajasthan’s tribal districts will accelerate their development and unlock their industrial potential.

“An efficient transport system plays a vital role in infrastructure development, facilitating investment and enhancing economic opportunities,” said Gadkari.

The session also focused on enhancing logistical efficiency, sustainable expressways, and developing industrial zones near transport networks. Jogaram Patel, Rajasthan’s Parliamentary Affairs Minister, emphasized the critical role of a robust road and logistics network in the state’s growth.

Praveen Gupta, Principal Secretary of PWD, highlighted Rajasthan’s significant improvements in the logistics sector, positioning it as a competitive state for freight movement.

Experts discussed strategies to integrate various transport modes, ensure eco-friendly expressways, and create industrial hubs near transport systems, aiming to boost operational efficiency and sustainability.

The ambitious road and highway projects are expected to transform Rajasthan’s infrastructure landscape, enhancing connectivity and fostering economic growth across the state.
