Nitin Gadkari Calls for End to Caste Politics, Says Leaders Exploit It for Selfish Gains

Union Minister and senior BJP leader Nitin Gadkari has emphasized that while people themselves are not casteist, political leaders often use caste for their own interests. Speaking at an event in Amravati on Saturday, he pointed out that backwardness has turned into a political tool, with leaders competing to claim who is more disadvantaged.

“There is a competition on who is more backward,” Gadkari remarked, stressing the need to eliminate social inequality. He urged that caste discrimination must end and that the change should begin with individuals themselves.

His remarks highlight the ongoing debate over caste-based politics in India and the role leaders play in shaping social narratives.
