Navjot Kaur Faces Rs 850 Crore Legal Notice Over Cancer Recovery Claims

Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu’s wife, Navjot Kaur, has been served a legal notice demanding Rs 850 crore in compensation over her alleged endorsement of Sidhu’s controversial cancer recovery claims. The notice, issued by the Chhattisgarh Civil Society (CCS), challenges Sidhu’s statements about his wife’s recovery from Stage 4 cancer and asks her to provide evidence within seven days to substantiate the claims.

On November 21, Sidhu had told reporters that his wife’s recovery was aided by avoiding certain foods like sugar, wheat, refined flour, and milk. He credited dietary changes and natural remedies, such as neem leaves, lemon water, tulsi, and turmeric, as key to her survival after being given just 40 days to live.

The CCS labeled these claims as misleading and potentially harmful, arguing they could create distrust in allopathic treatments and lead cancer patients to abandon their prescribed medications.

The notice poses several direct questions to Navjot Kaur, including whether she fully supports her husband’s claims, whether she relied solely on traditional remedies, and what role allopathic treatments played in her recovery.

“It has the potential to mislead patients, putting their lives at risk,” the notice stated, calling for clear evidence or a retraction to prevent further harm.

The CCS has warned that legal action will follow if proof or clarification is not provided within a week. Meanwhile, the debate over the balance between traditional and allopathic medicine continues to spark intense discussions.
