Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 Coupe Set To Launch In India On August 12

Mercedes-Benz is all set to introduce the Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 Coupe in India on August 12, continuing its push to expand its product lineup in the country. Unveiled globally in December 2024, the CLE 53 Coupe serves as a successor to both the C-Class and E-Class Coupes, unifying them into a single, performance-focused luxury coupe.
Design-wise, the CLE 53 features the signature AMG styling, including the Panamericana grille, aggressive front and rear bumpers, sporty side skirts, quad exhaust tips, and 19-inch AMG alloy wheels. Additional vents on the front fenders help enhance airflow management around the wheel arches.
Inside, the CLE 53 draws heavy inspiration from the current C-Class, offering a portrait-oriented touchscreen infotainment system, circular air vents, and a 12.3-inch digital driver display. Distinguishing it from the standard CLE are sportier AMG front seats, a performance steering wheel, and AMG-specific digital graphics.
Under the hood, the coupe is powered by a 3.0-litre inline-six twin-turbocharged engine (M256) paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system. It delivers 443 hp and 560 Nm of peak torque, with an extra 40 Nm available via an overboost function. Power is transmitted to all four wheels through a 9-speed automatic transmission and Mercedes’ 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive system.
Performance figures are equally impressive—0 to 100 kmph takes just 4.2 seconds, and the top speed is electronically limited to 250 kmph. Braking is handled by 370 mm discs with four-piston calipers at the front and 360 mm discs with single-piston calipers at the rear.
Expected to carry a premium price tag over the current C-Class Coupe, the Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 Coupe will compete with performance coupes like the BMW M2 and Audi RS5 in the Indian market.
