Meerut Murder Accused Took Vacation in Himachal After Brutal Crime, Driver Reveals Shocking Details

In a chilling revelation, the driver who transported Muskaan Rastogi and Sahil Shukla on their 15-day trip to Himachal Pradesh has shared shocking details about their behavior after allegedly committing a gruesome murder in Meerut. The duo, accused of killing and dismembering Muskaan’s husband, Saurabh Rajput, on March 4, appeared detached and barely spoke to each other during the journey, the driver, Ajab Singh, told NDTV.
Singh, who drove them through Shimla, Manali, and Kasol, claimed that Muskaan often stepped out of the car to take calls from her mother, while Sahil consumed alcohol heavily, drinking at least two bottles daily. Muskaan even asked him to buy a birthday cake for Sahil, instructing him to leave it in her room and pretend it was his own.
During the trip, the couple visited a gurudwara in Shimla, refueled their car on March 7, and continued purchasing alcohol. Singh was paid ₹54,000 for the journey and had no idea about the horrific crime they had committed before leaving.
The murder came to light on March 18, when Muskaan confessed to her mother, who immediately reported her to the police. Investigators revealed that on March 4, Muskaan and Sahil stabbed Saurabh three times in the heart, dismembered his body, and sealed the remains in a drum with cement before leaving for their trip. Meanwhile, they continued deceiving Saurabh’s family by sending messages from his phone.
A post-mortem report confirmed the brutal nature of the attack, stating that Saurabh’s head was severed, his hands were cut off at the wrists, and his legs were bent backward, likely to fit his body inside the drum. The cause of death was determined to be excessive bleeding and shock.
Muskaan and Saurabh had been married since 2016 against his family’s wishes and had a six-year-old daughter. Police revealed that Muskaan and Sahil, childhood acquaintances, reconnected in 2019 through a WhatsApp group.
Perhaps the most heartbreaking detail came from Saurabh’s mother, Renu Devi, who recalled that her granddaughter had been telling neighbors, “Papa is in the drum.” Authorities believe she may have witnessed something.
