Man Shot Dead While Waiting for Sehri in Aligarh; Attack Caught on CCTV

A shocking case of gun violence unfolded in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, early Friday morning when a man was brutally gunned down just before his sehri, the pre-dawn meal during Ramzan. The victim, identified as Haris alias Katta, was standing near his house in Telipada, Roravar, when four men on two motorcycles ambushed him in a calculated attack.
CCTV footage captured the horrifying moment. Haris, who had just returned from a cricket match, was seen chatting with another man when two bikes approached. One pillion rider pulled out a gun and fired multiple shots at Haris, causing him to collapse. As he lay on the ground, another attacker got off the second bike, struggled momentarily with his weapon, then fired three more shots to ensure he was dead before fleeing the scene.
The brutal execution, which took place around 3:15 am, has sent shockwaves through the local community. Police officials suspect old enmity as a possible motive but have not ruled out other angles. “We received information about the shooting around 3:30 am. Haris was rushed to the hospital, but he did not survive. A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway,” said Assistant Superintendent of Police Mayank Pathak.
Haris’s relative, Shoaib, denied any previous enmity and described him as a younger brother. “We had just come for sehri when it happened. These attackers are criminals,” he said.
The incident has raised concerns over law and order in the city, especially during the holy month of Ramzan, as police work to track down the killers and bring them to justice.
