Man Kidnaps, Kills Another For Demanding Sexual Favours In Thane

In a disturbing case from Thane’s Bhiwandi area, a 21-year-old man has been arrested for the kidnapping and murder of a 52-year-old powerloom owner, reportedly over repeated demands for sexual favours.

The victim, Farakh Ikhlaq Ahmed Sheikh, was found dead in a creek near Karivali village on April 17. Addressing the media, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Amarsingh Jadhav said that the accused, Rajkumar Rajendra Ram, was traced and apprehended in Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh, by a Crime Branch team led by Senior Inspector Janardhan Sonawane.

According to police, Rajkumar had been working in the powerloom unit owned by Sheikh. He allegedly confessed to the crime during interrogation, stating that he was under distress due to Sheikh’s repeated and unwanted sexual advances.

“Unable to bear the harassment any longer, Rajkumar hatched a plan to kidnap and murder the victim,” the officer stated. After killing Sheikh, the accused reportedly dumped the body in the creek to conceal the crime.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are expected to file formal charges soon.
