Man declared dead by doctors in Maharashtra’s Kolhapur, wakes up as ambulance crosses speed breaker

In a remarkable turn of events, 65-year-old Pandurang Ulpe from Kolhapur, Maharashtra, was declared dead by doctors following a heart attack but came back to life during his final journey home.
On December 16, Ulpe suffered a heart attack at his Kasaba-Bawada residence and was rushed to a private hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead. His family arranged to transport his “body” home for last rites.
However, as the ambulance carrying him crossed a speed breaker, his wife and relatives noticed movement in his fingers. Acting quickly, they redirected the ambulance to another hospital, where Ulpe underwent a fortnight-long treatment, including angioplasty.
On Monday, Ulpe walked home, grateful for a second chance at life. Recounting his experience, he said, “I felt dizzy and breathless after my walk and tea. I don’t remember anything after that.”
While the hospital that initially declared him dead has not commented, Ulpe’s story has captured widespread attention, with many marveling at the life-saving role played by a simple speed breaker.
