Man Arrested After Shocking Video Shows Dog Dragged Behind Auto in Greater Noida

A disturbing video showing a dog tied to an auto-rickshaw and being dragged across the road in Greater Noida has sparked outrage across social media, prompting swift police action. The man behind the act, identified as Nitin from Dadha village under Kasna police station limits, was arrested on Sunday after the video went viral.

Captured by a concerned passerby, the clip triggered an emotional response from animal lovers and citizens alike, many demanding accountability and stricter laws against animal cruelty.

Kasna Station in-charge Dharmendra Shukla confirmed, “The dog’s owner, Nitin, was identified through the video and booked under relevant sections for animal cruelty.” During questioning, Nitin reportedly claimed that the dog had accidentally fallen out of the auto, and he was unaware it was being dragged.

Thankfully, the dog survived the ordeal and is currently in a stable condition.

Animal welfare activist Anuradha Mishra from Noida emphasized the need for tougher action. “Such cruelty cannot be ignored. Strong punishment is necessary to deter rising cases of abuse,” she stated.

The incident has reignited conversations around animal rights and the need for greater awareness and accountability in pet ownership.
