Malaika Arora Misses Court Appearance Again in Saif Ali Khan’s 2012 Hotel Brawl Case, Bailable Warrant Re-Issued

A Mumbai court has once again issued a bailable warrant against Bollywood actor Malaika Arora after she failed to appear as a witness in the long-pending 2012 hotel brawl case involving Saif Ali Khan.

The incident took place on the night of February 22, 2012, at a five-star hotel in Mumbai, where Saif and a group of friends, including Malaika Arora, Kareena Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, Amrita Arora, and others, were dining. According to the police, the dispute began when NRI businessman Iqbal Mir Sharma objected to the loud behavior of the group. This allegedly led to a heated exchange, during which Saif reportedly punched Sharma, fracturing his nose. Sharma also claimed that his father-in-law, Raman Patel, was assaulted by Saif’s friends.

Saif, however, has maintained that Sharma provoked the incident by using abusive language toward the women in his group.

Following the complaint, Saif and two of his friends—Shakeel Ladak and Bilal Amrohi—were arrested and later released on bail. They were later charge-sheeted under Section 325 of the Indian Penal Code, which pertains to voluntarily causing grievous hurt.

Chief Judicial Magistrate K S Zanwar is currently hearing witness testimonies at the Esplanade Court. The court had first issued a bailable warrant for Malaika on February 15, but after her failure to appear, it was re-issued on Monday. The next hearing in the case is scheduled for April 29.

This development marks another chapter in the over-a-decade-old case that continues to make headlines as high-profile names remain involved.
