Leaked Images Reveal Redesigned Rear Panel for iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max

Fresh leaks suggest that Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max will feature a revamped rear panel with a glass-aluminium design and a larger camera module. Dummy units of the new iPhone lineup have surfaced online, offering a glimpse of these expected design changes.
A New Look for the iPhone 17 Pro Models
Tech tipster Sonny Dickson shared images on X (formerly Twitter) showcasing dummy units of the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Air, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. Unlike previous leaks showing metal dummies, these new images highlight a redesigned back panel on the Pro models.
The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max appear to have a more prominent camera island, stretching across the top portion of the rear panel. The images also confirm that Apple is moving to a hybrid rear panel design, combining glass and aluminium instead of using an all-glass finish like current models. Reports suggest that the lower half of the back will remain glass, covering the MagSafe charging area, while aluminium will frame the upper portion and camera module.
What About the Other Models?
The standard iPhone 17 seems to retain a similar design to the iPhone 16, including a vertical camera setup. The iPhone 17 Air, rumored to replace the iPhone 16 Plus, is expected to be Apple’s slimmest phone to date and will reportedly feature a single rear camera.
Meanwhile, size comparisons from earlier leaks indicate that the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro could share a 6.3-inch display, while the iPhone 17 Pro Max is expected to be the largest in the series.
With Apple yet to confirm these design changes, fans will have to wait until the official launch to see how these updates play out. However, the leaks align with previous reports, hinting at an exciting new look for the Pro models in the iPhone 17 lineup.
