Lawrence Bishnoi Gang Member With Rs 1 Lakh Reward Killed In UP Encounter

Meerut, Uttar Pradesh: In a high-stakes police operation, a wanted criminal linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang was shot dead in an encounter with the Special Task Force (STF) on Wednesday. The gangster, identified as Jeetu alias Jitendra, had a bounty of ₹1 lakh on his head and was involved in multiple crimes across Haryana, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh.

The shootout took place in the Mundali police station area of Meerut, where Jeetu sustained critical injuries. He was rushed to a hospital but succumbed during treatment.

Jeetu, a resident of Asounda village in Haryana’s Jhajjar district, had a long criminal history. He was convicted of a double murder in 2016 and sentenced to life imprisonment. However, after being granted parole in 2023, he escaped and continued his criminal activities, including a contract killing in Ghaziabad.

While serving time in jail, Jeetu established connections with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and became involved in their illegal operations after his escape. The police had been tracking him since he went on the run, leading to Wednesday’s encounter.

His criminal record includes multiple cases in Jhajjar, Bahadurgarh, Kanjhawala, Vikas Puri, and Ghaziabad. He had previously been sentenced to life imprisonment, ten years in another case, and five years for separate charges.

The UP STF, in coordination with law enforcement agencies across multiple states, had intensified their search for Jeetu, ultimately leading to his downfall.

With his death, the police consider this a major breakthrough in curbing the activities of organized crime networks in the region. Investigations are ongoing to track down other associates linked to the gang.
