Israel-Iran Conflict Day 4: Missiles Fired from Iran, Israeli Military Confirms

Tel Aviv:
The conflict between Israel and Iran intensified on the fourth day, as air raid sirens blared across northern Israel following a fresh wave of ballistic missile attacks launched from Iran. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed the assault on its official Telegram channel, stating:
“A short while ago, the IDF identified missiles launched from Iran towards the territory of the State of Israel. Defensive systems are operating to intercept the threat.”
Citizens were urged to take shelter immediately. The IDF instructed:
“Upon receiving an alert, the public is instructed to enter a protected space and remain there until further notice. Leaving is only permitted following an explicit directive. Continue to follow the instructions of the Home Front Command.”
In a provocative statement, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed that eliminating Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, would bring an end to the conflict — a proposal reportedly vetoed by former US President Donald Trump just a day earlier.
Tensions have sharply escalated since Israel launched “Operation Rising Lion,” a large-scale attack targeting Iran’s nuclear and military facilities. Israel said the move was necessary to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons — a red line for both Israel and the United States.
Iran retaliated by launching its first-ever direct strikes on Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Both nations have declared the situation a national security crisis and warned their citizens to brace for a prolonged confrontation.
Israel maintains that its initial strikes were aimed at military and nuclear infrastructure, but after Iran allegedly targeted civilian zones, Tel Aviv has warned of deeper incursions into Iranian territory — though it insists civilians are not its intended targets.
Despite this, multiple Israeli missiles have struck civilian areas in Iran, reportedly causing a rise in casualties and widespread damage.
