Iran Denies Role In Drone Strike On Saudi Aramco, Vows Revenge For Khamenei’s Killing

Iran has denied any involvement in the recent drone strike targeting Saudi Aramco’s Ras Tanura facility, even as tensions continue to escalate amid the ongoing conflict involving Iran, Israel, and the United States.

According to Iranian government sources, Tehran was not behind the attack on the Saudi oil giant. The Ras Tanura facility was hit by a drone on Wednesday, though officials confirmed that no damage was reported. Earlier this week, another drone incident prompted Saudi Aramco to temporarily shut down the refinery amid concerns of potential disruption to the region’s vital energy infrastructure.

“We were not involved in the Aramco strike,” Iranian sources said, dismissing allegations linking Tehran to the incident.

However, the sources emphasized that Iran considers it its responsibility to avenge the killing of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was killed in a recent US-Israel airstrike.

“This is our duty at the governmental level to take revenge for the killing of the Supreme Leader, even with the last of our soldiers,” the sources said, adding that Iran intends to continue resisting what it describes as aggression from the United States and Israel.

They further warned that Tehran aims to end the US presence in the Middle East, accusing Washington of attempting to destroy Iran. According to the sources, Iran will continue to fight what it calls an existential battle.

The Iranian officials also warned that countries allowing US military bases on their territory could face consequences. They said attacks on such bases would stop only if those nations expel American forces.

“This breach of international law will haunt everyone,” the sources said, arguing that if world powers can assassinate leaders of other countries without consequences, it could set a dangerous precedent globally.

Iran also accused the US and Israel of targeting civilians during the conflict, claiming that many innocent people, including schoolchildren, have been killed in the strikes.

Additionally, the sources alleged that intelligence agency Mossad is attempting to ignite sectarian tensions in the region as part of a broader strategy to destabilise Iran.

They also said Iran had urged India to condemn the joint US-Israel strikes that led to Khamenei’s death.

Taking a swipe at US President Donald Trump, the sources described him as “a man of a reality TV show,” and dismissed his claims that Iran had sought peace negotiations.

The current conflict began after the United States and Israel launched coordinated airstrikes across Iran on February 28, targeting several cities including Tehran. The operation, reportedly called Operation Epic Fury, followed stalled nuclear negotiations and allegations that Iran had resumed nuclear activities.

During the strikes, Ayatollah Khamenei was killed along with several members of his family at his residential compound in Tehran.

In retaliation, Iran launched a series of missile attacks targeting Gulf locations, including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Qatar, and Bahrain. The conflict has since intensified, with Iran firing multiple rounds of missiles as the war enters its sixth day.

Despite growing global concern, both sides continue to exchange threats, raising fears of a broader regional escalation.
