India and Meta Join Hands for “Be an Empowered Consumer” Campaign to Boost Digital Safety

Government Partners with Meta to Educate Consumers on Online Safety and Fraud Prevention

The Ministry of Consumer Affairs has teamed up with tech giant Meta to launch a new initiative, “Be an Empowered Consumer,” aimed at strengthening digital literacy and consumer protection in India.
Unveiled by Consumer Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi and Meta’s Chief Global Affairs Officer Joel Kaplan, the campaign will operate under the “Jago Grahak Jago” (Wake Up, Consumer) awareness program, ensuring that even people in remote areas gain essential knowledge about online safety.
