Howrah Woman Forces Husband To Sell Kidney For Rs 10 Lakh, Elopes With Lover And The Money

Husband Left Devastated After Wife Takes ₹10 Lakh, Refuses to Return
In a shocking case of betrayal and deceit, a man from Sankrail, Howrah was allegedly forced by his wife to sell his kidney for ₹10 lakh, only for her to elope with her lover, taking the money with her.
The woman convinced her husband that selling his kidney was the only way to secure their daughter’s future, citing financial struggles and the need for money for her education and marriage. Trusting her, the man searched for a buyer for over a year and finally sold his kidney three months ago, believing it would ease their financial burden.
The Shocking Betrayal
Unbeknownst to him, his wife had other plans. During this time, she had connected on Facebook with Ravi Das, a painter from Subhash Colony, Barrackpore. The two began an affair, and once the kidney was sold and the money received, she ran away with Ravi, leaving her husband and child behind.
When the devastated husband filed a police complaint, his wife refused to return. She even told him she would send a divorce letter and refused to meet her family, despite their repeated pleas.
Family’s Desperate Appeal Ignored
On Friday, the husband’s parents and 10-year-old daughter visited the couple’s new residence in Barrackpore, hoping to confront them. However, the woman and Ravi Das refused to let them in, coldly telling them, “Do what you must. I will be sending a divorce letter.”
The Legal Perspective

This case highlights not only a heartbreaking personal tragedy but also the darker side of illegal organ trade in India.
