Former Union Minister’s Daughter Alleges Rs 4 Crore Fraud by Film Producers

Arushi Nishank Accuses Producers of Deception, Harassment, and Discrimination
Arushi Nishank, daughter of former Union Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, has accused Mumbai-based producers Mansi and Varun Bagla of defrauding her of Rs 4 crore. According to Arushi, the producers convinced her to invest in the film Aankhon Ki Gustakhiyan, starring Vikrant Massey and Shanaya Kapoor, by promising her a key role and a 20% share of the film’s profits, which were estimated to exceed Rs 15 crore. They also assured her that if she was dissatisfied with the role, her investment would be refunded with 15% interest.
Investment and Broken Promises
An MoU was signed on October 9, 2024, and the next day, Arushi paid Rs 2 crore. Over the following weeks, she invested an additional Rs 2 crore, bringing the total to Rs 4 crore. However, she alleges that the producers failed to honor their commitments, did not promote her, and ultimately removed her from the film without providing a refund.
Public Humiliation and Social Media Exclusion
Adding to her distress, Arushi claims she was publicly humiliated when the producers posted a team picture on social media, intentionally cropping her out and omitting her name from the credits, despite her being in the original photo.
Allegations of Threats, Harassment, and Discrimination
Arushi further alleges that when she demanded her money back, the producers threatened her and her family with defamation, false legal cases, and even death threats. She also claims to have faced caste-based discrimination and body-shaming, with derogatory remarks made about her Garhwali heritage.
Police Investigation Underway
A case has been registered against the producers, charging them with fraud, criminal conspiracy, threats, and violations under the IT Act. Dehradun SP City Pramod Kumar confirmed the case and assured a thorough investigation, including a close examination of the MoU and financial transactions.
