‘Drishyam’-Style Murder Near Mumbai: Wife Allegedly Kills Husband, Hides Body Under Floor Tiles

In a chilling case echoing the Bollywood thriller Drishyam, police in Maharashtra’s Palghar district are investigating the suspected murder of a man whose body was allegedly buried under floor tiles inside his own home by his wife and her alleged lover.

Vijay Chavan, 35, had been missing for over two weeks. He lived with his 28-year-old wife, Komal Chavan, in the Gadgapada area of Nalasopara East, roughly 70 km from Mumbai.

On Monday, Vijay’s brothers—who had been searching for him—visited his home and noticed some of the floor tiles looked newer and didn’t match the rest. Suspicious, they removed the mismatched tiles and discovered a vest buried in the ground along with a foul smell. They alerted the police immediately.

Investigators later uncovered Vijay’s body buried beneath the floor, confirming the family’s worst fears.

Komal Chavan, who has been missing for the past two days, is now the prime suspect in the case, along with a neighbour named Monu, who is believed to be her romantic partner. Both are currently untraceable, and police suspect the duo may have conspired together in the murder.

An investigation is underway as authorities continue their search for the suspects and piece together the motive and events leading up to the gruesome crime.
