“Delhi Wakes Up to Poor Air and Rising Heat, Temperature to Soar to 41°C”

Delhiites started their Monday with a warm breeze and rising concerns as the city’s air quality dipped into the ‘poor’ category and temperatures began climbing. The minimum temperature recorded was 20.2°C, making the morning feel warmer than usual.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted that the mercury will continue to rise through the day, likely peaking at a sweltering 41°C. A yellow warning for a potential heatwave has also been issued, urging residents to stay cautious and hydrated.

Adding to the discomfort, the Air Quality Index (AQI) in Delhi touched 230, marking it as ‘poor’. For context, an AQI between 0–50 is considered good, 51–100 satisfactory, and anything above 200 starts becoming unhealthy, especially for sensitive groups.

As the city braces for a hot and hazy day, authorities are advising people to limit outdoor activity during peak hours and take necessary precautions to beat the heat and pollution.
