Delhi Elections 2025 Exit Polls: AAP Leads, BJP Close Behind in Tight Race

Voters Favor Arvind Kejriwal for CM, But Final Results Still Awaited
The much-anticipated Delhi Assembly Elections 2025 concluded today, with voting wrapping up at 5 PM, though an extra hour was given to those still in line. With all 70 seats in contention, the national capital saw a triangular contest between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and Congress.
According to the ZEENIA exit poll survey, Arvind Kejriwal remains the top choice for Chief Minister, securing 50% of voter preference, followed by BJP’s Parvesh Verma at 30% and Congress’ Sandeep Dixit at 20%.
The voter turnout stood at approximately 57% by 5 PM, with the final numbers expected to be close to the 62% turnout recorded in 2020. The election campaign was dominated by key issues such as freebies, water supply, pollution, road conditions, the presence of Rohingyas and Bangladeshis, and the Yamuna river’s contamination.
In 2020, AAP won a landslide victory with 62 out of 70 seats and a vote share of 53.57%, while BJP secured eight seats with 38.51% votes. Congress, on the other hand, managed a mere 4.26% vote share.
With the exit poll numbers indicating a close fight between AAP and BJP, all eyes are now on the final results. The official counting of votes will determine whether Arvind Kejriwal retains power or if Delhi witnesses a major political shift.
