Chairman of Khyati Multispeciality Hospital Arrested in Gujarat PMJAY Racket Scam

Kartik Jasu Patel, the chairman of Khyati Multispeciality Hospital, was arrested by Ahmedabad City police on Saturday, 66 days after being named in the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) racket. The arrest came as Patel arrived at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad. Patel, 59, is the last of the nine accused to be taken into custody in connection with a case involving allegedly unnecessary angioplasty surgeries that led to the deaths of two men.

Patel, who is also the majority investor and chairman of Ahmedabad Bariatrics and Cosmetics Pvt Ltd, is facing charges for his role in the scam, which involved fraudulent surgeries under the PMJAY health insurance scheme. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the case.
