BJP Urges Opposition to Hold Off Criticism, Says ‘Operation Sindoor Still Underway’

New Delhi:
The BJP on Wednesday called on opposition parties to stop making what it termed “unnecessary and unwarranted” remarks about Operation Sindoor, stressing that the military operation is ongoing and has not been officially concluded.
Addressing the media, BJP national spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi clarified that the government has never used the term “ceasefire” and reaffirmed that the issue of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) must be resolved solely through bilateral dialogue between India and Pakistan—without any external mediation.
“Operation Sindoor is still in progress. It has only been paused, not stopped,” Trivedi said, urging political parties, particularly the Congress, to show restraint and unity on national security matters.
He expressed concern that while opposition leaders publicly claim to stand with the government on the issue, their actions often contradict their words, leading to confusion and raising doubts about their sincerity.
“Let Operation Sindoor come to a full conclusion,” Trivedi said. “Only then can there be space for debates or demands such as calling a special Parliament session. Right now, national interest must come first.”
The BJP’s comments come amid rising political friction and media speculation, as the sensitive PoK issue continues to stir both diplomatic and domestic debate.
