Bengaluru Tragedy: Man Kills Girlfriend, Stays With Body for Two Days Before Arrest
In a shocking incident, a man has been arrested in Bengaluru for allegedly murdering his girlfriend, popular vlogger Maya Gogoi, and spending two days with her lifeless body before attempting to flee the city. The brutal crime has left the community in disbelief as details of the case emerge.
Maya Gogoi, originally from Assam, had been staying with her boyfriend, Aarav Hanoy, in a service apartment in Bengaluru. The couple was reportedly facing relationship issues, and the tragedy unfolded after Maya expressed her desire to end the relationship. Enraged, Hanoy allegedly killed her and stayed in the apartment for two days, spending most of his time smoking cigarettes beside her body.
Following the murder, Hanoy fled Bengaluru and traveled across multiple states, including North Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh’s Varanasi, in an effort to evade capture. A large-scale manhunt was launched, with police teams tracking his movements across several regions. Despite his efforts to escape, Hanoy returned to Bengaluru and was arrested near the Kempegowda International Airport on Friday.
Deputy Commissioner of Police D Devraj recounted the extensive search, stating, “After committing the crime, Aarav traveled through several states before returning to Bengaluru, where we apprehended him.”
Maya’s family last heard from her on the night of the murder when she informed her sister that she was attending an office party. After that, her phone was switched off, and all communication ceased. Her body was discovered in the service apartment days later, leading to the launch of the investigation.
The case has raised concerns over relationship violence and the need for better awareness and support systems for individuals in distress. The police continue their investigation to uncover all details surrounding this horrific crime.
