Mumbai: Man Arrested for Molesting Woman Lawyer at Dadar Station After CCTV Leads Police to Suspect

In a swift response, the Government Railway Police (GRP) in Mumbai have arrested a 28-year-old man accused of molesting a woman lawyer at the busy Dadar Railway Station.
The accused, identified as Mohammad Afzal Shah, allegedly approached the victim on Platform 8, where he pushed her and inappropriately touched her before fleeing the scene.
Following the incident, police launched an investigation and carefully reviewed CCTV footage from the station. The footage helped officers trace the suspect to the Jacob Circle area, where he was eventually located and taken into custody.
Shah, a labourer originally from Uttar Pradesh, had been living near Jacob Circle. Authorities confirmed that he was arrested on Sunday and further legal action is underway.
The incident has once again raised concerns about women’s safety in crowded public spaces, especially at major transport hubs like Dadar station, which sees thousands of commuters daily.
