Two Indian Tankers Near Home After Crossing Hormuz, Bringing LPG And 80,000 MT Crude Safely

In a reassuring update for India’s energy supply amid tensions in the Middle East, two Indian tankers carrying vital fuel cargo have safely crossed the Strait of Hormuz and are set to arrive at Indian ports over the next two days.

The LPG tanker Shivalik is expected to dock at its destination around 5 pm on Monday, bringing relief at a time when global shipping routes near the Gulf remain under close watch.

Another vessel, Jag Laadki, is scheduled to arrive on Tuesday carrying a large consignment of 80,000 metric tonnes of crude oil, officials said.

Speaking at a press briefing, Rajesh Kumar Sinha, Special Secretary in the shipping ministry, confirmed the movement of the vessels and reassured that Indian maritime operations in the region remain safe despite the ongoing geopolitical tensions.

He also noted that 22 Indian ships are currently operating west of the Persian Gulf, with 616 Indian seafarers on board, and all of them are safe and in constant communication with authorities.

The update comes as the strategic Strait of Hormuz, a key global shipping corridor for oil and gas, remains under intense scrutiny due to the ongoing conflict in the region.

Officials say India is closely monitoring the situation to ensure the safety of its ships and crews while maintaining steady energy supplies to the country.
