BCCI Announces Record ₹131 Crore Reward For India’s T20 World Cup 2026 Triumph

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a record ₹131 crore cash reward for the Indian cricket team after their historic victory in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.
India clinched the title after defeating New Zealand national cricket team in the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium. The win marked a landmark achievement as India became the first team in tournament history to successfully defend the T20 World Cup title.
The triumph came under the leadership of Suryakumar Yadav, whose team delivered a dominant campaign throughout the tournament. With this victory, India also became the first nation to win the T20 World Cup three times, further strengthening its reputation as one of the most successful sides in the format.
The ₹131 crore reward announced by the BCCI surpasses its previous record. When India won the 2024 T20 World Cup under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma in Barbados, the board had announced a ₹125 crore bonus for the team.
Apart from the BCCI’s reward, the International Cricket Council (ICC) also awarded India $3 million (around ₹27.48 crore) for winning the tournament. The 2026 edition featured a record prize pool of $13.5 million, a 20% increase compared to the previous tournament.
In addition to the winning prize, teams also received performance-based bonuses of around $31,154 (₹28.6 lakh) for every match won during the group stage and the Super 8 round.
The BCCI congratulated the players, support staff and selectors for the remarkable achievement, calling the victory a historic moment for Indian cricket.
