Jain Community Bags 186 Luxury Cars With Rs 21 Crore in Discounts

The Jain community recently showcased its impressive purchasing power by securing discounts worth a staggering Rs 21 crore while acquiring 186 high-end luxury cars, including BMW, Audi, and Mercedes. The initiative was facilitated by the Jain International Trade Organisation (JITO), which boasts 65,000 members across India.

According to JITO Vice President Himanshu Shah, the deal was “one-of-its-kind” in collaboration with 15 top-brand dealerships. The organisation acted solely as a facilitator, ensuring members could get the best possible prices without profiting from the transactions.

Most of the luxury cars, priced between Rs 60 lakh and Rs 1.3 crore, were purchased by Gujarat-based Jains and handed over to buyers between January and June this year. “Our members saved a total of Rs 21 crore through this initiative,” Shah noted.

The concept was pioneered by community member Nitin Jain, who realised that pooling buying power could help members negotiate significant discounts with car dealers. Since no marketing costs were involved, carmakers also benefited, making it a win-win situation.

The idea quickly gained traction within the community. On average, each buyer saved between Rs 8 lakh and Rs 17 lakh—enough to buy an additional car for another family member.

Building on this success, JITO is now expanding the initiative to other sectors, including jewellery and electronics, through its new programme called ‘Utsav’, aiming to leverage collective bargaining for even more savings.
