Villager Calls CM Helpline After Receiving Only One Laddu Instead of Two

Bhopal:
A villager in Madhya Pradesh’s Bhind district filed an unusual complaint on the Chief Minister’s Helpline — he was given only one laddu during Independence Day celebrations instead of two.
The incident occurred at the Gram Panchayat Bhawan after the flag-hoisting ceremony, where sweets were distributed among attendees. When villager Kamlesh Khushwaha was handed just one laddu, he protested and demanded a second. Upon being denied, he immediately called the CM Helpline from outside the venue to lodge his grievance, stating that sweets were not distributed properly.
Panchayat Secretary Ravindra Srivastava later confirmed the complaint, explaining that the peon had given Khushwaha a single laddu. In a bid to resolve the matter, the Panchayat decided to buy one kilogram of sweets from the market and apologise to the villager.
This is not the first unusual complaint on the CM Helpline from Bhind. In 2020, a villager had reported a faulty hand pump. However, the response from a Public Health Engineering (PHE) official at the time caused controversy, as the reply mocked the complainant and referred to him as “mad,” sparking outrage before the official clarified that his ID had been misused.
