YRF Offers Rs 22 Crore Compensation To War 2 Distributor Naga Vamsi

New Delhi:
Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR’s much-hyped War 2 has reportedly underperformed at the box office, particularly in the Telugu states.
What Happened
According to reports, Yash Raj Films (YRF) has stepped in to address the financial setback faced by producer and distributor Naga Vamsi, who acquired the Telugu rights of the film for around ₹80 crore. With collections falling short due to poor reviews and online backlash, YRF is said to have refunded ₹22 crore through structured settlements — ₹10 crore for Nizam, ₹7 crore for Andhra, and ₹5 crore for Ceded territories.
Naga Vamsi had initially expected War 2 to collect at least ₹100 crore in the Telugu markets alone, but the film struggled to gain momentum from its release.
Rumours Of Exit From Industry
Following the disappointing run, speculation surfaced online that Naga Vamsi was planning to quit the industry. Addressing these rumours, he clarified on X (formerly Twitter) in Telugu that he has no such plans and will continue working in cinema for at least another decade. He also announced his upcoming project Mass Jathara.
About The Film
Backed by Yash Raj Films and mounted on a massive budget of ₹300–400 crore, War 2 stars Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR, Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor, and Ashutosh Rana. Despite its star-studded cast, the film has received mixed reviews and is currently inching towards the ₹200 crore mark at the global box office.
