Pune Engineer, 23, Dies by Suicide After Leaving Office Meeting Midway: Police

In a tragic incident, a 23-year-old engineer working in Pune’s Hinjewadi IT hub died by suicide on Monday after jumping from the rooftop of his office building.

The deceased, identified as Piyush Ashok Kawade, had been employed at Atlas Copco (India) Pvt Ltd since July of last year. According to police, he left an office meeting midway before taking the extreme step around 9:30 AM.

Authorities confirmed that Kawade left behind a suicide note addressed to his family. When asked if workplace stress may have been a contributing factor, Sunil Kurade, Assistant Commissioner of Police, stated, “At first glance, there’s no indication of that. The investigation is ongoing, and we will closely examine the contents of the note. His relatives are also being contacted for further information.”

Police have registered a case of accidental death and are continuing their inquiry to determine the circumstances that led to the incident.
