Congress’ Partap Bajwa Files Police Complaint Against Kejriwal, AAP Leaders Over ‘Doctored’ Video

Ahead of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha’s special session scheduled for July 10-11, a new political row has emerged. Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition in the Punjab Assembly, Partap Singh Bajwa, has filed a police complaint accusing AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, and ministers Harpal Cheema and Aman Arora of circulating a doctored video of him on social media.
The complaint was filed at Chandigarh’s Sector 3 police station, where Bajwa demanded that an FIR be registered against the AAP leaders. He alleged that the video had been deliberately edited to misrepresent his statements and tarnish his political image.
Bajwa explained that on June 25, he had posted a video on social media criticizing the conduct of vigilance officials who allegedly entered the bedroom of his wife, MLA Genieve Kaur, during a search related to a case involving Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Majithia. He called the officials’ actions a violation of legal norms and said his criticism was directed at the vigilance department’s misconduct.
However, Bajwa claims that the video was manipulated by AAP supporters to make it appear as if he was defending Majithia, the accused in the case. He accused the ruling party leaders of intentionally spreading the edited clip to malign his reputation ahead of the assembly session.
