Chinese Man Caught Cross-Dressing to Impersonate Female Student in Exam Scam

Wuhan, China:
A male student from Zhongnan University of Economics and Law was caught attempting to cheat in an exam by disguising himself as a female student. Dressed in a wig, face mask, and headband, the man tried to take the Advanced Accounting exam on behalf of a woman surnamed Li.

According to the South China Morning Post, Li had contacted the man online to sit for the exam in her place. It is not yet known whether any payment was involved in the arrangement.

The man entered the exam hall in full disguise but drew suspicion from one of the invigilators due to his appearance. When asked to remove his wig, he refused. The situation escalated when another student recognized him, prompting the impersonator to flee the venue.

Zhongnan University later issued a statement confirming the incident. Disciplinary proceedings are underway, and Li is facing expulsion for academic misconduct. The identity of the male impersonator is under investigation by the university and local authorities.

The case has sparked widespread discussion on Chinese social media, where users expressed shock over the extreme measures taken to cheat. Many pointed to the intense academic pressure in China’s education system as a contributing factor.
