Macron Calls Gaza Crisis “Intolerable,” Urges Ceasefire and Humanitarian Action

French President Emmanuel Macron has expressed deep concern over the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza, calling the conditions there “intolerable” and pushing for an immediate ceasefire and renewed access to life-saving aid.
Speaking at a European leaders’ meeting in Albania on Friday, Macron emphasized that the situation in Gaza has reached an unprecedented level of suffering since the conflict began.
“We are witnessing a humanitarian impact unlike anything we’ve seen before,” Macron told reporters.
He stressed that securing a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas and reopening humanitarian channels must be the international community’s top priority.
Macron also mentioned that he plans to speak directly with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and has already raised the issue with former U.S. President Donald Trump, who concluded a Middle East tour on Friday without any apparent breakthrough in ceasefire negotiations.
Trump, for his part, acknowledged the escalating hunger and suffering in Gaza and recognized the urgent need for aid deliveries to reach civilians.
