India Gifts 15 Tata Curvv EVs to Nepal, Strengthening Ties and Driving Climate Action

In a powerful gesture of diplomacy and sustainability, India has handed over 15 Tata Curvv EVs to the Government of Nepal, underscoring the two nations’ shared commitment to climate action. The symbolic move took place ahead of the inaugural Sagarmatha Sambaad — a global dialogue on Climate Change, Mountains, and the Future of Humanity — set to be held in Kathmandu from May 16 to 18, 2025.

Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Naveen Srivastava, officially handed over the electric vehicles to Nepal’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba. The initiative highlights the spirit of friendship between the neighbours and India’s continued support for regional environmental initiatives.

The Tata Curvv.ev, a standout in Tata’s electric lineup, joins other popular EVs such as the Punch.ev, Nexon.ev, Tiago.ev, and Tigor.ev. Known for its stylish design and strong range, the Curvv.ev starts at Rs 17.49 lakh (ex-showroom), with the top variant priced at Rs 21.99 lakh. It is offered with two battery options — 55 kWh (with a MIDC range of 502 km) and 45 kWh (up to 430 km).

This isn’t the first time Tata’s EVs have made headlines. The company earlier supplied EVs to Rashtrapati Bhawan, reinforcing its alignment with India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative. Tata has also made its electric range available on the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) for institutional use, emphasizing its dedication to self-reliance and sustainability.

With over 50% of its EV components sourced domestically, Tata.ev qualifies as a Class 1 supplier under India’s Public Procurement Policy. Rooted in Indian innovation and built for the country’s needs, Tata’s EVs are now playing a diplomatic role, driving forward both friendship and the fight against climate change.
