Biker, Assaulted By “Drunk” Men, Traced Accused On Instagram Using AI tools

What was supposed to be a peaceful Sunday morning ride turned into a terrifying ordeal for 11 bikers in Gurugram, as a group of allegedly drunk men ambushed them, leaving one rider seriously injured and several high-end motorcycles damaged.

Hardik Sharma, one of the bikers, recounted the horrifying experience in an interview with NDTV. “They hit me with an iron bat… I survived only because I was wearing a helmet,” he said, adding that he was also threatened with a knife and warned not to film the assailants. “They told me they would shoot me if I recorded them.”

The attack happened as the group was heading from Ambience Mall to Panchgaon for breakfast. Near Dwarka Expressway, a black Scorpio began swerving dangerously close to their bikes. When the bikers pulled over to let the vehicle pass, the SUV stopped in front of them, and several visibly intoxicated men stepped out with glasses in their hands.

“They started attacking one of my friends without any provocation,” Hardik said. As some riders fled to protect their luxury motorcycles — many of which are worth between ₹20 to ₹25 lakh — the situation escalated. Hardik, who initially fled, turned back on foot to help a friend he thought was still there, only to be met with brutal violence.

“One of them started damaging my bike and then attacked me. They hit my hand with the iron bat and kicked me multiple times,” he recalled. His motorcycle, worth ₹11 lakh, sustained damages estimated at ₹4 to ₹5 lakh, including custom accessories.

What followed was a frustrating 12-hour journey just to get an FIR registered. Hardik said he was shuttled between police stations as officials debated over jurisdiction. “From 8 am to 8 pm, I kept going from one station to another. Only then was the FIR finally lodged.”

Tracked Through AI, Not Police

In a remarkable twist, Hardik used AI-powered tools to track down the accused on social media before the police could. “We used paid AI tools that can identify people in images or videos if they have a public social media profile. That’s how we found their Instagram handles and even traced them to a local gym,” he explained.

Despite handing over all the evidence — videos, social media profiles, and even gym locations — Hardik says no arrests have been made so far.

“I still don’t know why they attacked us. There was no argument, no words exchanged. They just started beating us,” he said, visibly shaken.

Police have since confirmed that the accused were captured on CCTV and that investigations are ongoing. However, for Hardik and his fellow riders, the lack of swift justice remains deeply unsettling.

“This wasn’t just an assault — it was a threat to life. They need to be held accountable,” he said.
