Three Murders in 24 Hours Rock Delhi: AAP Slams BJP Over Rising Crime, Demands Action

New Delhi:
A chilling wave of violence struck Delhi on Thursday, as three murders were reported within just 24 hours, raising serious concerns about the city’s law and order situation. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has sharply criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which currently governs the national capital, for what it calls a growing climate of fear and lawlessness.
In the first case, a minor road accident in Central Delhi’s Nabi Karim area took a deadly turn when 34-year-old Mahendra was brutally killed with a screwdriver by two men—brothers Lucky and Sagar—after a heated argument. The accused are currently absconding, and police are on the lookout.
The second murder occurred in Punjabi Basti, also in Central Delhi, where 24-year-old Ashish Anand was stabbed to death. According to his mother, the killing was a pre-planned conspiracy by four to five individuals who were drinking outside their home. She mentioned that past arguments had occurred. Two suspects have been arrested so far, and the hunt is on for the remaining accused.
The third incident was reported from Seelampur in North East Delhi, where 17-year-old Kunal was stabbed and later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. Delhi’s Chief Minister Rekha Gupta assured that she has spoken to the Police Commissioner and vowed that the accused will be arrested soon and justice will be delivered.
Opposition Voices Rise
Reacting strongly, AAP leader and former Delhi CM Atishi took to social media to question the deteriorating security. “The murder of a 17-year-old youth in Seelampur is another example of the worsening law and order situation in Delhi. What is the Delhi Police doing?” she posted on X.
AAP’s Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh also held the BJP responsible, saying, “Law and order is not improving under the BJP.” He pointed out that despite a decade-long rule by AAP earlier, the recent rise in violent crime is deeply concerning.
The spate of murders has triggered fear and outrage across the city, with many calling for swift action and stronger policing.
