“Tiger Triumph 2025: India-US Troops Train Shoulder-to-Shoulder, Strengthen Military Bond”

In a powerful display of friendship and defense partnership, Indian and US troops came together for an intense joint training session under Exercise Tiger Triumph 2025 at the Duvvada Firing Range from April 2 to April 4.
The three-day drill kicked off with a joint address from the commanding officers of both sides, setting the stage for a highly collaborative and action-packed exchange. Representing India was the 8 Gorkha Rifles Infantry Battalion Group, under the Amphibious Brigade of the Bison Division, while the US contingent included members from the 1st Battalion, 5th Infantry Regiment (“Bobcats”) and the 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 11th Infantry Division (“Arctic Wolves”).
The joint exercise highlighted the deepening military ties between the two countries. A key moment came when Rear Admiral Greg Newkirk of the US Navy joined the Indian commanding officer in live-firing and jungle shooting drills—signifying a hands-on leadership approach and strong operational camaraderie.
The training covered a wide array of crucial combat techniques: small arms marksmanship, jungle warfare tactics, and Integrated Field Craft (IFC). Soldiers from both countries teamed up as “buddy pairs” to practice live-fire drills at various ranges, engage in close-quarter combat, and navigate Jungle Lane Shooting setups simulating real battlefield conditions.
Another vital part of the program was the Combat Medical Aid module, where soldiers were trained in battlefield first aid and rapid casualty evacuation—skills essential for both warzones and disaster response scenarios.
With participation from senior officers of the HQ Eastern Naval Command and HQ Integrated Defence Staff, the exercise went beyond just tactical drills. It showcased the trust, respect, and shared values that define the India-US defense relationship.
Tiger Triumph 2025 not only deepened operational compatibility between the two militaries but also reaffirmed their shared commitment to regional peace, security, and humanitarian cooperation in the Indian Ocean Region.
