Chaos in Meerut Court as Lawyers Attempt to Attack Cement Drum Murder Accused

Meerut – Tensions ran high in a Meerut courtroom on Wednesday as over 100 enraged lawyers attempted to attack Muskaan Rastogi and her boyfriend Sahil Shukla, the accused in the gruesome murder of Merchant Navy officer Saurabh Rajput. The duo, who allegedly drugged, stabbed, and dismembered Saurabh before sealing his remains in a cement-filled drum, were being escorted out of the courtroom when the situation escalated.
As soon as Muskaan and Sahil stepped out, a large group of lawyers gathered, shouting “Taiyyar Raho” (Stay Ready) and “Maaro” (Attack) in anger. Despite a heavy police presence, the crowd attempted to physically assault the accused. Some lawyers even managed to land blows before police officers shielded the pair and ushered them into a waiting vehicle. In a dramatic moment, one lawyer climbed atop an SUV, trying to strike the accused from above, while another hit them through the car window before the vehicle sped away.
Muskaan and Sahil were produced before the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate’s court following their arrest for the chilling murder. According to Superintendent of Police (Meerut City) Ayush Vikram Singh, Muskaan had meticulously planned the crime as early as November last year. She allegedly manipulated Sahil—who was addicted to narcotics—by convincing him that his deceased mother was communicating with him through a fake Snapchat account she had created. This psychological trick was reportedly a key factor in getting Sahil to participate in the brutal killing.
Authorities say Muskaan and Sahil first drugged Saurabh before stabbing him to death. They then chopped his body into 15 pieces, stuffed them into a drum, and sealed it with cement to conceal the crime.
While the police managed to prevent a full-blown attack on the accused, the incident highlights the deep public outrage over the horrific murder. The case continues to unfold as the investigation moves forward.
