“She Betrayed His Love”: Parents Disown Daughter Accused of Merchant Navy Officer’s Murder

The shocking murder of Merchant Navy officer Saurabh Rajput has left two families shattered, with the accused’s own parents demanding the harshest punishment for their daughter.

Muskaan Rastogi, along with her lover Sahil Shukla, allegedly killed Saurabh on March 4, dismembered his body into 15 pieces, and sealed them in a cement-filled plastic drum. The crime came to light when Saurabh’s worried family, unable to contact him, filed a police complaint. After being interrogated, Muskaan and Sahil reportedly confessed, leading to their arrest and the grim recovery of Saurabh’s remains.

Parents Turn Against Their Daughter

Muskaan’s parents, Pramod Kumar Rastogi and Kavita Rastogi, have taken an extraordinary stance—they refuse to defend her. Instead, they express deep remorse and anger over their daughter’s actions.

“She must be hanged. She has lost the right to live,” they said, visibly shaken.

According to them, Muskaan visited them after the murder and admitted to the crime. “She told us, ‘Mummy, we killed Saurabh.’ We immediately took her to the police station,” her mother recalled.

Saurabh had once left everything for Muskaan—even distancing himself from his own family. “He blindly loved her,” said Kavita Rastogi. “But she betrayed him, took him away from his family, and now she has taken his life.”

The Rastogis are now standing firmly with Saurabh’s family, vowing to ensure justice is served.

A Marriage That Fell Apart

Saurabh and Muskaan had a love marriage in 2016. In his desire to spend more time with her, Saurabh quit his job at sea. However, tensions grew when he became estranged from his family. The couple later had a daughter in 2019, but their happiness was short-lived.

Saurabh eventually discovered Muskaan’s affair with his friend Sahil. While he initially considered divorce, he chose to stay for the sake of their child. In 2023, he returned to his Merchant Navy job, unaware that Muskaan and Sahil were deepening their relationship—one that would ultimately lead to his murder.

The Role of Drugs and Betrayal

Muskaan’s parents believe drug abuse played a major role in the crime. “She and Sahil were using drugs, and Saurabh would have tried to stop them,” said her father. “That’s why they decided to get rid of him.”

Her mother added, “Saurabh always supported her. When he went to London, he even agreed to her living separately because she didn’t want restrictions. We thought she was just missing him, but in reality, Sahil was pushing her into drugs.”

A Child Left Behind

Saurabh and Muskaan’s six-year-old daughter is now in the custody of Muskaan’s parents. “She is innocent in all of this,” they said.

As the investigation continues, two families grieve—not only for the man whose life was brutally taken but also for the woman they once called their daughter.
