Andhra Woman Allegedly Kills Son for Misconduct, Dismembers Body, Say Police

Cumbum: In a shocking incident from Prakasam district, Andhra Pradesh, a 57-year-old woman allegedly killed her son due to his repeated indecent behavior towards family members, including attempts to assault his maternal aunts, police said.

According to Prakasam Superintendent of Police, A R Damodar, K Lakshmi Devi allegedly murdered her 35-year-old son, K Shyam Prasad, on February 13. Prasad, who worked as a cleaner, was reportedly known for his inappropriate conduct towards his aunts and other relatives in Bengaluru, Khammam, and Hyderabad.

Police stated that Prasad, who was unmarried, had also allegedly attempted to assault his maternal aunts in Hyderabad and Narasaraopeta. Frustrated by his actions, Lakshmi Devi allegedly killed him with the help of her relatives, using an axe or a sharp weapon.

After the murder, his body was dismembered into five pieces, placed in three sacks, and discarded in the Nakalagandi canal in Cumbum village.

The accused are currently on the run, and the police have registered a case under Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita Sections 103(1) and 238. A search operation is underway to locate the suspects.
