Mysterious Deaths in Jammu & Kashmir’s Rajouri Spark Panic, Amit Shah Orders Investigation

In a concerning development, several mysterious deaths have occurred in Badhaal village, located in the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, leading to widespread panic. The deaths, which have unfolded over the past six weeks, have left both local authorities and villagers in shock, with no clear explanation for the tragic incidents.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has responded to the crisis by ordering the formation of an inter-ministerial team to investigate the cause of these deaths. The team, led by the Ministry of Home Affairs, will include experts from health, agriculture, chemicals, fertilizers, and water resources. Additionally, specialists in animal husbandry, food safety, and forensic science labs will be brought in to assist the investigation. The team is scheduled to arrive in Badhaal on January 19 to work closely with the local administration, providing immediate relief and preventive measures to address the situation.

According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, leading experts from some of the country’s top institutions will be involved to ensure a thorough investigation into the cause of these deaths.

Meanwhile, a Special Investigation Team (SIT), headed by Budhal Superintendent of Police (Operations) Wajahat Hussain, has also been set up to probe the deaths further.

In the midst of this crisis, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah convened a high-level meeting to address the situation. He instructed health and police officials to speed up the investigation.

Before the deaths, affected villagers reported symptoms such as fever, nausea, pain, and loss of consciousness. An MRI scan of patients revealed oedema, a condition where fluid accumulates in the brain, further complicating the mystery.

In a heart-wrenching turn, Mohammad Aslam, a villager, tragically lost five children and his maternal uncle and aunt, who had adopted him, between January 12 and 17. This devastating loss has left the community in mourning as they await answers to the disturbing deaths.
