Young Man Poses as Fake CBI Officer for Over a Year: Caught During Random Check

A 25-year-old man from West Delhi has been arrested after posing as a CBI officer for over a year. The man had faked his identity after failing to pass the competitive exam to join the CBI as a Sub Inspector. In an effort to avoid embarrassment, he decided to deceive others by pretending to be part of the prestigious agency.
The incident came to light during a routine vehicle check conducted by the Subhash Nagar Police post in West Delhi’s Rajouri Garden, part of security measures for the upcoming Assembly elections. The police were conducting checks to ensure there was no illegal movement of cash or liquor when they unexpectedly intercepted the man, who had been operating under a false identity.
According to DCP Vichitra Veer, the fake officer’s capture was the result of the police’s alertness during the check. “It was a random check and luckily he was caught because the police personnel were alert,” Veer said.
The man had been using his forged CBI credentials to deceive the public for over a year and a half, leading a double life before being apprehended. His case has raised questions about the lengths some individuals go to in order to gain respect and avoid public embarrassment.
