Tragic Suicide of Bengaluru Techie Sparks Arrests: Wife Nikita Singhania Denies Allegations

Bengaluru police have arrested Nikita Singhania (29), her mother Nisha, and brother Anurag (27) in connection with the death of Atul Subhash, a Bengaluru-based techie who died by suicide on December 9. In a heart-wrenching suicide note and video, Atul accused Nikita and her family of harassment and extortion, leading to the ongoing investigation.

Nikita, who had been estranged from Atul for nearly three years, denied the allegations during police interrogation. “If I harassed him for money, why would I stay away from him?” she reportedly told investigators. Police quoted her defense, stating that she had not been in contact with Atul for an extended period.

Another family member, Sushil Singhania, who is over 70 years old, has also been named in the FIR, and his involvement in the case is under scrutiny.

This case comes amidst allegations from both sides. In 2022, Nikita had filed a police complaint against Atul, accusing him of harassment and assault over dowry demands. The police are now piecing together evidence to determine the veracity of claims from both parties and have assured that a chargesheet will be filed if Atul’s accusations are substantiated.
