Three Killed in Bengal Blast, Suspected Bomb-Making Accident

A tragic explosion in West Bengal’s Murshidabad district has left three people dead and several others injured. The blast occurred late last night in the Khayartala area, allegedly during the illegal manufacturing of countrymade bombs at the home of Mamun Mollah. Neighbours reported hearing a loud explosion, but were unaware of the cause at the time.

The victims have been identified as Mamun Mollah (30), Sakirul Sarkar (32), and Mustaqin Sheikh (28). According to police, the explosion was so powerful that it caused the roof of Mollah’s house to collapse. “The explosion occurred while crude bombs were being made at the house. We are investigating the incident,” a police officer told PTI.

Initial reports suggest that Mollah and Sarkar survived the explosion initially, but both succumbed to their injuries on the way to the hospital. The three men were allegedly linked to the smuggling of phensedyl, a drug often used in cough syrups.

A police team has been deployed to the area, with a bomb squad investigating the cause of the blast. The authorities are working to determine the full details surrounding this tragic incident.
